Our silkworms are now moths!
Jun. 16th, 2010 12:30 amThe first of our silkworms came out of the cocoon today. I could barely pull Peter away from the wii to watch it emerge, but Ellie and Amber enjoyed watching it crawl out and start pulsating it's wings.
They're pretty funny while they try to mate. We have 4 mating pairs plus an extra female right now. There are 7 cocoons left to hatch and 20 that *cough* I don't think will ever hatch. Some of the pairs have begun laying eggs already.
I tried to get one on camera crawling out, but it turned out that one decided not to hatch today. Perhaps tomorrow.
