Today I planted a Mulberry tree. I garden less than nearly everyone on my friends list except my husband, so for me this was a big step. Many thanks to my in-laws for the use of the tools.

Originally I had planned to try to keep it alive just through this year's silkworm season for the kids to have fresh leaves for our worms daily, but now I've become a little attached to it. I hope it lives longer and grows up to be a big shade tree in our front yard.

I don't garden, but I know lots of my friends do, so I thought I'd signal-boost this post from my friend who enjoyed the book, All New Square Foot Gardening: Grow More in Less Space! by Mel Bartholomew.

Liz uses lots of great pictures in her post about getting it all set up. It's almost enough to make me want to garden something this spring. But not quite. ;-)
