We had a great time in Las Vegas last weekend and my water did not break on the way home. Two friends got married. Yes in Las Vegas. Yes on April Fools day. But it suits the two of them very well and I'm really happy that it all came together for them.
On Sunday after the wedding we planned to walk a few blocks on the strip, see if there were any tickets to fun shows at half price for that evening, buy some, and go back to our hotel to take a nap until the show started. It ended up turning into a nearly 4 mile walk punctuated by frequent ice cream and rest room breaks. This was my frist time in Vegas (and is likely to be my only time there) and I got to see the inside of many places on the strip.
They're all so different on the outside, but the casino level looks nearly the same in every one. Many have different flavors to the malls that seem to be inside every one, and the rest rooms are all decorated in ways that match with the casino's general theme.
The walk was long enough that I strongly considered taking a bus back to the hotel where our car was parked, but in the end we walked back. That might have been a bad idea, it's hard to tell. We didn't buy tickets to anything and instead had a nice romantic meal just the two of us back at our hotel before collapsing into bed.
( TMI: My water didn't break but I worried that it might have. )We picked up Peter at my parents' house at around 3:30. He was happy to see us but he had a good time at Grandma Coleman's house. We'll have to do it again some time. Like when the baby comes for real. :-)
