I've been feeling so good and getting so much done that I haven't even bothered to journal in the last few days. Wow! Having a few hours to myself every morning has made such a difference in my life that if I'd known it would have been this good I would have started Peter in pre-school long ago. I feel as if I've come out of a mild depression.

Granted, I'm able to feel good because I know he's being well taken care of and learning things and meeting people, so likely I couldn't have actually started him in pre-school a long time ago and still felt un-guilty about it.

In the last 4 days I've:
* had a doctor's appointment with no toddler present
* had a dentist appoint with no toddler
* finished a video project I started in February
* read a book
* gotten enough sleep
* installed Gimp on my mac
* started to dig myself out of my e-mail hole

I'm still far behind, there are more video projects waiting to be done plus paperwork to do, bills to pay, Girl Scout stuff to finish up, cute stories about Peter to blog, and of course the taxes to start... but I'm feeling like it's doable as opposed to insurmountable.

I think getting enough sleep (10+ hrs/day) plus still having 2 hours to myself that I don't have to give up sleep to get makes the biggest difference.

Peter seems to be enjoying pre-school, at least he doesn't want to leave when I pick him up, although when Jon leaves him in the morning it has become progressively more difficult all week long. This weekend we're going to Vegas for a wedding and my parents are going to watch him for two nights. I think that next week we'll continue with Jon dropping him off, because he does separate much better that way than with me.

Today was Peter's first day of pre-school! We prepared him last night by letting him know that Daddy would take him to pre-school and he would stay there with teacher Meera and watch the fish and the frogs, play the musical instrument with the purple pick, and have fun with Jane and Anna. Tomorrow he could stay at pre-school a long time and didn't have to come home right away.

I'm posting now because he's been napping for THREE AND A HALF HOURS!!! He normally only naps for one, maybe one and a half hours. [He woke while I was playing with adding pictures to this entry. The rest of this is written after bedtime.]

Apparently all the prep work we did to get him comfortable worked. I don't know if he cried during the day while we were gone (there wasn't much of a chance to talk to the teachers during pick-up) but having Jon and Jon only do the drop off worked and he didn't cry upon separation. Yay!! I was prepared for the worst but things seem to have gone very well. I was very happy to have both a doctor's appointment and a dentist appointment with no kids in tow while he was away. The super-long nap was an added bonus.

Here's Peter this morning drumming on his play-doh drum before pre-school. Grandma gave him his first hair cut on Friday night. (I still have to blog that and add pictures of his little-boy curls that we just cut off, it will be in the Peter filter when it's done.)

Here's Peter and Daddy together and happy to go off to pre-school.
