Today was Peter's first day of pre-school! We prepared him last night by letting him know that Daddy would take him to pre-school and he would stay there with teacher Meera and watch the fish and the frogs, play the musical instrument with the purple pick, and have fun with Jane and Anna. Tomorrow he could stay at pre-school a long time and didn't have to come home right away.

I'm posting now because he's been napping for THREE AND A HALF HOURS!!! He normally only naps for one, maybe one and a half hours. [He woke while I was playing with adding pictures to this entry. The rest of this is written after bedtime.]

Apparently all the prep work we did to get him comfortable worked. I don't know if he cried during the day while we were gone (there wasn't much of a chance to talk to the teachers during pick-up) but having Jon and Jon only do the drop off worked and he didn't cry upon separation. Yay!! I was prepared for the worst but things seem to have gone very well. I was very happy to have both a doctor's appointment and a dentist appointment with no kids in tow while he was away. The super-long nap was an added bonus.

We sent him with 3 changes of lower-half clothes (pants, underwear, socks) and one change of tops. He used one change of clothes. He reportedly used the potty once correctly, and also had a BM in his underpants. Oh well. Here's hoping the rest of the week goes better. Although tomorrow is unlikely to because he ate so much fruit for snack/dinner tonight. When I started counting how many apples he ate (about one and a half) I realized oh-oh, I should give him some cheese and some white bread or there will be much mess tomorrow. Here's hoping the mess happens after pre-school is over.

The clothes that he picked out to wear to pre-school last night are not the ones he actually wore to school, because while we had a mostly successful pottying incident before he left the house, the aim was a bit off, requireing a new shirt and pants anyway. I need to get him shorter shirts. The ones we have are either too big or too small for a potty training boy with a very large head and neck.

Here's Peter this morning drumming on his play-doh drum before pre-school. Grandma gave him his first hair cut on Friday night. (I still have to blog that and add pictures of his little-boy curls that we just cut off, it will be in the Peter filter when it's done.)

Here's Peter and Daddy together and happy to go off to pre-school.
