Steps in the right direction on drug wars

beth_leonardThe ACLU just sent me a note I'm passing on -- There is now a bill before the senate reclassifying drug possession as a misdemeanor instead of a felony. Prohibition just doesn't work, but the public can't take a wholesale change in one gulp.
This is an issue where your state senators really need to hear from the people; they need to hear that what they're doing is ok, because for so long the public has clamored "Drugs are Bad! Give us more drug penalties! Somebody hurt themselves with drugs, there ought to be a law!"
It is SB 1506 (Leno), and your state senator should vote yes on it.
