It is very easy to spend far too much money buying children's audio books on iTunes to download to the iPodTouch and play in the car for the kids.

If you have a CD player or cassette player in your car, you can go to your local library and take out audiobooks for children (granted, I don't know what your local library's collection is like but it could be worth a shot). If you want some recommendations, just let me! =)

You could also set up a plan at Audible.com (which is now owned by Amazon). With different plans, you can get credits per month to apply towards audiobooks. Just a thought.

If they especially like a certain author, you may be able to purchase used audiobooks from Powells' bookstore (I can get them at our local one for $5-10 per book, which is awesome...even though for the exact same thing they sell to libraries for $70+.). Just another way to perhaps get them cheaper. =)
