Somebody *my* age won a silver in gymnastics??!!

The German who is my age, heck, older than me because she's 33 already and I don't turn 33 until the 26th, just won an olympic silver medal in vault. It's almost enough to rekindle my olympic dreams. Or something. By the next olympics I'll be 37, which will be entirely too old.

Not for swimming (Dana Torres won silver, just missing gold, at 41). Or shooting or archery.

Me, I'm thinking about trying to get really good at curling and go for the Winter Games.

Me too! They said she's a product of the soviet gymnastics machine. I was under the impression that it ruined your body for later in life, but obviously not everyone's.

me too. i thought of trying archery or something obscure. apparently that german gal had a son with leukemia so she left the soviet to get him treatment. he's now in remission.
