Mudd Reunion
Apr. 13th, 2008 05:20 amWe're going! It's Jon's 15th and my 11th, but due to starting my CS major late, I feel greater kinship with the class behind me, celebrating their 10th reunion. We're staying at the official place (Ontario Sheritan I think) and we'll be driving down.
So far we've signed up for the Saturday afternoon lunch, the 10 year reunion dinner, and childcare both nights.
When the time for my 15th/16th rolls around, I think I'm going to recommend a class trip to Disney Land on Sunday. Doing this with children is odd, and going to Disneyland Sunday seems nicer. I imagine I can't be the only person from my class year with kids in the correct age range. We could get some type of group lunch at a Disney restaurant and otherwise have fun with the kids.
I'd love to get together with anyone on my flist while we're there. I'm not into tours and wine tasting, etc. but I would like to go on the CS deptartment tour Saturday morning. The Lind center has a kid zone I think, and I'm guessing we'll spend most of our time near there.

Kid Zone
Date: 2008-04-14 04:16 am (UTC)What I'm going on is a very brief note in the program that says:
"10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
* Kids Korner, Sprague Library Patio
Build bridges and other fun stuff with K’NEX kits."
There's also a line "* Hospitality Suite, Linde Activities Center
Thirsty? Hungry? This is the place to be. The Baker Room will serve as the official “downtime” suite where you can grab a soda or snack and catch up with fellow Mudders." where I think we'll be spending much of the rest of our time.
The Linde Activities Center is the big gym they built on the field next to North. It's not the same as Linde dorm. I plan to spend much of our time there when the K'nex thing isn't running and we're not eating.
We will also be driving to the event. In a huge minivan. Patri is coming with us, but I don't think he'll take up much room. Are there any baby things (like an extra high chair) that you'd like to have but don't want to schlep on a plane? We have a spare high chair and 2 pack-and-plays. I think we'll be having both of our kids sleep in the ones we have, but I don't know how it will work out for Peter, he may or may not use it.
My cell phone is currently on the fritz, so there's a good chance we'll have a new number by the time the weekend rolls around.

Re: Kid Zone
Date: 2008-04-16 02:43 am (UTC)We don't use high chairs much, we're renting a crib from the hotel (which, IME, always means renting a pack and play), and getting a car seat from the car rental place (which I hear is chancy, but they confirmed a reservation for one...). I am more worried about snacks and things than about bigger stuff - what with TSA having issues with liquids on planes, I am concerned about our ability to keep D. adequately fed en route. He still nurses a fair bit, so we have that fallback.
Dorian is young for K'Nex, but we'll stop by Linde when we can.
We're staying at the Doubletree near the Ontario airport.
